Yogurt Cake with White Chocolate and Walnut and Hubby's Keema

First up you may recall yesterday I only used half of the turkey mince, my hubby used the other to make keema, on the plate right hand side. He sauteed onion, garlic, mustard seeds, cumin powder, coriander powder and green chili. Then added masala powder the turkey then tomatoes and simmered for 2o min. At the end he added cooked potatoes and fresh chopped cilantro. Very tasty.

Today I was feeling a wee bit lonely the house is so quiet without Mum and Dad here so I tried to make a cake, I saw a yogurt cake on Dajana's blog
when I re read it i saw this was a third attempt, I was warned he he
So anyways here's my version

  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • some lemon juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • handful of walnuts and a few squares of white chocolate (I got this in Aldli cheap and good, even when the Germans make cheap chocolate it turns out well!)

  1. Mix yogurt, sugar, lemon juice, eggs together
  2. fold in flour and baking powder and mix in chocolate and nuts and oil
Bake at 350 for 45 min the recipe I found said 30-35 min I opened oven door at 30 and it sank!!, so turned it up and left for another 10 min, and it was OK, doesn't look pretty but tastes good!

The Key when we mess up in the kitchen is to laugh it off and try again LOL

My little helper!
