Miso Marinated Chicken (tori misoyaki)

This wonderful recipe was inspired by a conversation on twitter I asked if folks had more recipes using miso and someone tweeted this to me ;-) and in the process I discovered another awesome blog for Japanese recipes - Just Bento


  • 4 pieces of chicken I used thighs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar 
  • 2 tablespoon sake
  • 2 tablespoon miso 

  1. mix miso, sake and sugar together and cover chicken with it
  2. marinate overnight
  3. cook on a grill pan i used cast iron for about 4 minutes each side allow it to brown
  4. then transfer to an oven and broil for a another 10 minutes or longer until cooked. 
Serve with rice and vegetables or add to your bento box :-)
